Agency: CMW Interactive
Client: Arts Council of England
The Arts Council has launched a new intranet, called ‘One Place’ which aims to unify its nine regions and national office through one communication portal and to support dialogue throughout the national development agency for the arts in England.
Designed by CMW Interactive, all Arts Council staff have access to upload content and will keep the site updated with news, policies and other information that keep everyone up-to-date with latest developments.
The sleek design for the portal’s homepage works from right to left, progressing logically from broad organisational and national information to personalised information and resources, including a ‘my space’ area, where users can upload their own photo, create bookmarks and engage in forums.
The site also includes an interactive regional map, a calendar of internal and external events and an image library and news.
Head of Internal Communications at the Arts Council, Shiona Hastie, said, “The intranet defines internal communication as the interesting, lively medium it can be when done well. The teams have worked brilliantly together to deliver us a uniformly excellent way to operate more effectively and efficiently as one organisation.#
“Moreover, while many intranets can present content in a dull fashion, CMW Interactive has created a resource which is also visually inspiring.”
David Smith, Head of CMW Interactive, says: “The intranet marks a milestone in the history of the Arts Council as a single organisation, following the merger of regional arts boards several years ago.
“The watchwords of the project in terms of design were ‘world class usability’ and ‘vibrancy’.”
