Agency: Media Initiatives Group
Client: First Great Western; Vodafone
Concourse Initiatives, the outdoor advertising arm of Media Initiatives Group, has branded Vodafone HQ’s local railway station in Newbury.
The year-long sponsorship of Newbury train station contract involves the complete branding of the local station for Vodafone’s headquarters, including nameplates, running-in boards, floor media, stair risers and platform banner advertising.
The sponsorship includes campaigns around Grand Prix news via text alerts, Vodafone’s TBA gig video footage and cinema or concert ticket information through mobile internet.
“Interest and bookings for exclusive use of high-traffic venues has increased substantially in the past year alone. Based on feedback from our agency customers, there is a real benefit in sponsoring venues such as railway stations,” says Mark Hockney, Sponsorship Manager at Concourse Initiatives.
“We’ve worked hard to secure the rights to brand over 1,500 train stations throughout the UK, because we recognise that there’s a unique opportunity for brands to create maximum impact, at a fraction of the cost for more traditional media formats or other outdoor advertising alternatives, for a longer period of exposure.”
CEO, Media Initiatives Group Alan Greaney, added, “With a wide range of branding formats available, it’s easy to create a highly visual campaign that gets brands noticed within their local market. Train station sponsorship is one of the best examples of how companies can create a lasting impression with a large audience whether they’re commuters, local residents, UK and overseas students or visitors from abroad.”
Concourse Initiatives has grown its sponsorship business by more than 200 per cent year on year and is one of the UKs only outdoor and ambient specialist to offer full train station sponsorship on a substantial scale. It offers clients a comprehensive and unrivalled range of venues for sponsorship, product sampling and awareness branding.
