Agency: Euro RSCG
Client: The Sun
Professional freestyle footballers found on YouTube feature in new Sun sponsorship idents created by Euro RSCG London.
The Sun’s sponsorship of Football Tonight on Sky Sports News begins in October 2007 and will run for the entire season.
The sponsorship communication aims to raise awareness of The Sun – in all its formats - as the destination for everything football; anytime, anywhere.
The paper offers comprehensive football coverage across all its media – The Sun newspaper and Supergoals pullout, breaking football news and all the league tables, fixtures and results on the sun.co.uk and all the goals, highlights and pre-match clips of every Premier League and Champions league game on your mobile.
Twenty-four new idents encourage viewers to keep up with football in The Sun and feature soccer heroes doing ‘keepy uppys’ in a variety of situations – on a bike, in the shower, in the launderette and even handcuffed semi-naked to a street railing.
They end with the voiceover ‘Keep up! paper, online, mobile. The Sun – sponsors Football Tonight’
Dan Magness and Charlotte Lade are the heroes of the idents and both are professional freestyle footballers who no longer play for actual football clubs.
Dan is one of the world's leading freestyle footballers and former UK ‘Keepy Uppy’ champion.
