Agency: M&C Saatchi and Feel Films
M&C Saatchi and Feel Films have created the first television advertising campaign for UK betting shops Ladbroke’s since laws changed recently to allow UK gambling companies to advertise again.
Comedy director Matt Lipsey has given 60”, 30” & 10” executions a deft humorous touch converting well known and loved football pundits into the inhabitants of your local greasy spoon with seemingly effortless realism and a natural lighthearted delivery.
The action begins in a bog standard builders café as a group of workmen sup on mugs of tea and read the tabloids whilst arguing over footie and taking the piss out of each other in a typical schoolyard-buildersyard kind of way.
The only difference is that these are no usual builders but in fact famous sporting personalities - Ian Wright, Ally McCoist, Chris Kamara and Lee Dixon plus a cameo from Jimmy Hill as the kitchen chef and also from Kirsty Gallagher as the waitress in the extended 60” spot.
The endline sums it up perfectly – ‘Ladbrokes. Everyone’s got an opinion. What’s yours worth?’
