Ian Wright has traded his football boots for a fish slice in the latest TV ad from ASDA.
The latest release showcases Wright’s four day experience working with employees at the ASDA store in Bedminster, Bristol.
A far cry from his position on the field, Wright’s in store experience sees him skinning, weighing and preparing fish for on-looking customers.
So impressed with Wright were his colleagues, they awarded him a certificate acknowledging him as an honorary member of the ‘Fishmonger’s school of Excellence’.
The advert features the new 3-step plan which allows ASDA customers to pick their fish and choose their butter from a selection of flavours which is then sealed in an oven proof bag ready to be cooked at home.
As a testimony to the quality of the food, Wright chose fish as his food of choice when the cameras stopped rolling as well.
He admits: “The past few days have been fantastic and I really enjoyed working with everyone at ASDA. After preparing and serving the fish during the day I was really keen to have it for lunch. It was delicious!”
No one could be happier with the outcome than the ASDA Fish manager, who said “We were delighted to have Ian on the team. He worked hard and offered great entertainment to both the ASDA employees and customers. We are all so pleased to have been involved.”
Ian Wright is the latest household name to appear in the successful series of ASDA advertisements which include Victoria Wood in the ASDA bakery, Paul Whitehouse at the Dairy counter and Liza Tarbuck on the checkout.
