Designer: Victoria Fulton
Client: Edinburgh Zoo
An advertising student from Napier University is celebrating seeing her work in print after Edinburgh Zoo snapped up her ideas to use in its high-profile summer campaign.
Now the adverts created by Victoria Fulton, from Edinburgh, are being seen and heard by thousands of people as they feature on Lothian buses and poster sites across the city, and hit the airwaves as part of a radio campaign.
Victoria wanted to create an advertising message which highlighted the importance of the Zoo’s conservation work. To achieve this she created posters featuring tigers and lemurs alongside the slogan “Spend the Day. Save Tomorrow.”
Her work was chosen after Napier lecturer Susie Henry approached the Zoo and asked if her students could use it as the focus for their final project.
A group of eight students created numerous advertisements and presented them to the Zoo’s marketing team, which was very impressed with the high standard of the presentations.
They loved Victoria’s work so much that they decided to use it for its summer campaign.
She said: “I have the utmost respect for Edinburgh Zoo’s efforts in conserving animals threatened by extinction and hope my advertising will draw attention to this vital work.”
