Orange cinema ad duo Mr. Dresden (Brennan Brown) and his sidekick Elliott (Steve Furst) are interrupting former 'Batman' and 'Top Gun' star Val Kilmer on set this month, in cinemas around the country.
The ‘Gold Spot’ adverts show fictitious Orange film funding executives interfering with Hollywood stars during filming of their latest movies, and remind cinema audiences to turn their phones off before the start of films.
This latest addition sees Orange Film Funding Board boss Mr. Dresden going head-to-head with the Iceman himself on the set of a Kilmer-led Western.
It begins with a desperate plea by a frantic cowpoke to find the fastest rider in town but quickly descends into madness once Dresden and Elliot step on set. In the end, Kilmer's ode to the Wild West is ruined, reluctantly hawking the benefits of 'emails with picture attachments'.
Orange has held the rights to the 65 second slot or ‘Gold Spot’ before a film begins in the cinema since 2000. The illustrious Gold Spot reinforces Orange as the number one brand associated with film in the UK.
The spot, the third in the latest series of Orange Gold Spots, was created by Mother and shot by Epoch's Stacy Wall.
Previous Orange Gold Spots have featured stars such as Mena Suvari, Carrie Fisher, Roy Schneider, Patrick Swayze, Ewan McGregor and even the 'Star Wars' character, Darth Vader.
Head of Advertising & Design, Orange, Rachel Macbeth, said, “Cinema-goers love finding out who our next Gold Spot ‘victim’ is because it is great to see celebrities sending themselves up with the Orange film board.”
