The ‘rude’ man of Dorset has received a rude awakening from the rude man of Springfield, Homer Simpson.
Carved into the side of the rolling Dorset downs since the 16th Century, the chalk giant is said to have fertile magic.
The arrival of a 70m by 50m Homer Simpson mirroring the actions of the giant and brandishing his very own magical symbol, a donut, has been staged to promote the new Simpson’s Movie opening on July 27, 2007.
It took two days and over 200 litres of bio-degradable paint to complete Homer.
Creative Painter, Peter Stuart, said, “It’s taken over five hours to complete the painting of Homer Simpson. But it’s all been worth it.”
