Mother is appealing to diners in search of the easy life in its latest advertising for Unilever snack brand Pot Noodle.
The new film builds on Pot Noodle’s grand tradition of irreverent advertising. Called ‘WAG’, the ad features the character Brian, who is dressed rather unconvincingly as a footballer’s wife and highlights how enjoying a Pot Noodle is so easy, it’s wrong.
Brian explains how he has "always dreamed of living an easy life" – which is why he married a footballer. In the ad we follow him on a typical day. Touring his gaudy mansion on a Segway, getting a spray-tan, enjoying a long-soak in the tub and partying with his girls. Along the way he uses his golden spinning-fork to enjoy a Pot Noodle or two.
It ends with the strapline: “Why Try Harder?”
The 30-second commercial will run until December 2011.
