As excitement mounts ahead of the new football season, The Sun has launched a brand new fully integrated advertising campaign to promote its coverage of the beautiful game. The campaign uses the end line ‘Football, brought to life by The Sun’.
The first ad hits screens July 25 and features an animation of Rooney’s goal in the 2011 Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
Viewers see Rooney’s ‘goal of the season’ unfold in animator Richard Swarbrick’s iconic animation style, with a voiceover from Sun columnist and footballing legend Terry Venables. The ad ends with a close up of The Sun’s three major football columnists, Terry Venables, Ian Wright and Harry Redknapp.
