Europcar hit the TV screens June 3, launching a new, unique, service for leisure travellers.
The new service, freeDeliver, aims to give back time to customers by providing free delivery and collection to home addresses.
The £2.5m advertising campaign poses the question: “What would you do with the hour you save?” The TV spot features a regular guy dancing around his house, to the 1990’s club classic ‘Gonna Make you Sweat’ by C&C Music Factory. His routine is interrupted by the Europcar freeDeliver driver ringing on the doorbell to drop off his hire car.
“We are aiming to challenge the status quo of the car hire market with freeDeliver” said MD Europcar UK. “As the market leaders, I think we need to set the benchmark for a new customer-focused car hire service for leisure travellers and freeDeliver is just one of the initiatives we are developing to achieve this. It’s a crucial step in putting the trust back into the relationship between car hire companies and leisure travellers."
An innovative Twitter campaign is in action to encourage people to participate and tweet a response in real time to #myextrahour. Rail digital screens will feature a panel showing the rolling tweets – the first time this has ever been done before in this medium.
