Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s has come up with a novel way to mark World Fair Trade Day on May 14.
The socially conscious brand, which only uses fair trade ingredients in its ice creams, is donating un-used space in Twitter tweets to the cause, which helps provide farmers to a fairer income.
It has come up with a “Fair Tweets” program - a simple interface for Twitter followers to donate their unused social media space to support Fair Trade messaging.
Tweeters can visit the Fair Tweets website, type their usual tweet in the space provided, and Ben & Jerry’s automatically fills any unused space with a link to an article about fair trade.
The viral video above explains all.
