The BBC has launched a marketing campaign for BBC Radio 6 Music.
A TV trailer, which stars BBC Radio 6 Music DJs Jarvis Cocker, Lauren Laverne, Cerys Matthews, Steve Lamacq, Huey Morgan, and the station’s latest signings Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie, broke on Saturday 2nd April and was created by Fallon.
The 40” TV ad shows the DJs all carrying speakers and radios which are blasting out music that represents the kind of music listeners can expect to hear on their shows. At the end we see that all the speakers are being taken to the same place, where a building-like structure is being pieced together from the numerous speakers. The building represents 6 Music and the diverse music offering that it supports.
The campaign also includes digital banners that promote 6 specially created mixes, put together by the DJs, which can be downloaded at bbc.co.uk/6music. And a vinyl record of these mixes has been created and will be distributed with artwork and poster designed by Fallon, to all independent record stores on April 16th.
