McCann London has created a new Home Emergency Response campaign for the AA, with a nationwide TV ad starring John Cleese as the hapless hero who steadily refuses to believe that the AA can possibly help him with a water leak in his home.
Fortunately for him his savvy daughter calls the AA, quickly averting catastrophe as water is pouring through the ceiling.
Cleese’s character is familiarly fumbling; flapping and flailing around in his know-it-all manner, his incredulity summed up perfectly in delivering the line; “the AA?…for faulty showers?!”
“We think this campaign does a great job communicating that the AA will be there for you at home as well as on the road,” said Michael Cutbill, Marketing Director for the AA.
