Beer brand Budweiser turned a Los Angeles roof top into a giant game of people for a new campaign, which is due to launch in the UK and Ireland tonight (October 25).
The campaign, created by DDB UK and Diageo Ireland, seeks to celebrate the renewed sense of hope and optimism in the US, and of strong US brands, with an advert that shows that great things happen when people get together.
The ‘Pool’ execution, which features ‘Brakes On’ by Air, shows a cast of more than 60 extras coming together to play a “supersized” game of pool on a rooftop, and was filmed over five nights, The oversized props, which were specially commissioned for the shoot, included a 40ft pool cue, 16 pool balls over a metre high and a giant blue chalk.
It will run across the UK on Sky and mainstream TV in Ireland, the advert aims to “inspire and captivate” and return Budweiser to its “rightful position as the King Of Beers”.
‘Pool’ was shot by award-winning director Chris Palmer, who previously made the Skoda ‘Cake’ advert, and follows on from his previous ‘Lyric’ campaign for Budweiser, which ran last year.
