Specialist direct marketing agency DMS has been tasked with creating the first ever virtual gifts catalogue for the National Trust.
The catalogue showcases 16 of the 24 gifts available, all of which can be viewed online. The overall campaign objective will be to raise funds to help protect some of the National Trust’s most precious places and objects.
As a charity, the National Trust relies on membership fees, donations and legacies to generate income and preserve our heritage.
The catalogue’s outer cover leads with the strapline “What a great Gift! Give something special, save something priceless.” The catalogue is divided into four sections: ‘Our Landscapes’, ‘Our Wildlife’, ‘Our Environment’ and ‘Our History’.
Each category includes a range of gifts aimed at benefiting the National Trust’s work. Gifts range from £10 - Save the red squirrel’ - to £2,000 - a Bat Hotel. Other gift themes include the restoration of mountain footpaths and the conservation of tapestries.
The virtual gifts catalogue will be included in the National Trust autumn membership magazine, which goes out to 700,000 members. The catalogue’s launch will be supported by an e-marketing campaign as well as being promoted on the National Trust’s online shop.
Louise McRae, head of direct fundraising at National Trust comment, "‘Under the banner ‘What a great gift!’ our new catalogue really does what it says on the cover; it provides everyone with the chance to give something special – and save something priceless.
"The creative that DMS has developed really brings the gifts to life and shows how each and every one of us can make a difference.’ Shaun Crawford, creative director at DMS adds: ‘Exciting, accessible and with something for everyone – the catalogue reflects the values of the National Trust itself. I’m sure the gifts will be on everyone’s Christmas list this year."
