Footballing nuns will feature in an exciting new advertising campaign for “Old Speckled Hen”, being aired exclusively on Dave.
Over twenty attention-grabbing and entertaining new sponsorship idents have been created by agency MCBD to help drive awareness of Old Speckled Hen.
The beer has just been named as “the ale pub goers want to see on the bar when they head into their local”, according to research carried out by HPI Cardinal.
This significant advertising investment in Old Speckled Hen aims to supports pubs by increasing drinker demand for great beer.
The spots are the second series of idents to promote the sponsorship deal, which launched last year. They feature the distinctive vocal talents of Griff Rhys Jones and comedy actor Mark Heap as the voice of the brand’s iconic quizzical fox.
“There is a good reason why we’re going for a second year with sponsoring Dave. It’s still a great fit for Old Speckled Hen,” said Old Speckled Hen brand manager, John Sharples.
“It is the UK’s fastest growing channel; it has one of the highest proportions of beer drinkers of any TV channel; and the witty banter is a perfect home for “Old Speckled Hen”
He added, “Cask ale is enjoying a renaissance; outperforming lager, wines and spirits and attracting new drinkers. The campaign supports licensees in their quest to exploit this cask beer revival, helping to drive interest and sales in the category as well as the brand.”
The campaign represents part of a £3.6m support package for Old Speckled Hen and will contribute to the fast growing interest in real beer.
