Story Worldwide has revealed a new website for educational charity the Eden Project – realcoolfutures.com.
Real Cool Futures is a website that has been developed to inspire and inform 14-19 year olds about environmentally friendly career opportunities.
Using a bank of nearly 100 inspirational case studies, the site demonstrates a range of careers using written and video interviews that showcase individuals in eco-friendly jobs.
Each function on the site is designed to explain and give practical examples of how individuals can use their skills, talents and passions to make a positive difference.
The site uses Facebook to provide a platform for discussion, allowing fans to take part in Q&A sessions with professionals and receive updates. Since the launch over 93 fans have joined the Real Cool Futures Facebook page.
A range of industries were selected and divided into seven categories including The Great Outdoors, Design and Inspiration and People Power, each is illustrated with a light-hearted cartoon depicting the ideas behind it, using imagery to instantly appeal to visitor’s interests.
Users can filter their searches by selecting which interests, qualities and talents apply to them, and by qualification. For those with no idea where to begin, the Random Job Generator function can be used to kick-start the inspiration.
Emily Partridge at the Eden Project, said, “We loved the concept that Story proposed and we chose to work with them as the approach will engage 14-19 year olds. The aim of Real Cool Futures is to revolutionise the way that young people look at career opportunities and provide the chance for them to use their talents, skills and creativity. We hope the project will play a part in helping to build environmentally friendly solutions for the future.”
