Leading cat welfare charity, Cats Protection, has launched a new website.
The new website, designed by MCM Net, boasts a fully bespoke content management system and has a fresh, new design, blending Cats Protection’s corporate branding with playful elements like hand drawn images and sketched out navigation boxes to give the site a vibrant and modern feel.
Packed with an abundance of facts and information, the new website features the latest news, an online shop, educational resources, charity information and articles on cat adoption and cat care, as well as a branch locator which enables users to find their nearest Cats Protection branch, adoption centre or shop by inputting their postcode or selecting a region on the map.
The online donation process has also been streamlined to encourage more people to donate money through the website in fewer, more concise steps.
A donation tin is displayed on every main header which shakes when rolled over to grab user’s attention and provide a clear call to action, whilst quick links to the donation page are prominent throughout the site.
The ‘Cats for Kids’ section comprises a large proportion of the website. Its rich, highly animated design differs from the rest of the website’s styling to appeal to younger cat lovers, including lots of hidden extras which bring the site to life such as a singing, dancing musical cat band.
The section gives children access to competitions, downloadable mobile/computer wallpapers, ringtones, creative make-and-do ideas, screensavers, online games and a separate kids’ news feed, as well as educational resources about cats and how to get involved in supporting the Cats Protection through fundraising and volunteering.
