With the festive season fast approaching, leading high street retailer, Argos, has launched its Christmas TV ad campaign, inviting customers to ‘celebrate Christmas for Less’.
The campaign has been created by CHI&Partners and aims to demonstrate Argos’ continued reputation for offering the widest range at fantastic value for money and also to emphasise the unique ease and convenience of ‘Argosing it’.
“Our Christmas ads humorously dramatise the reality of a British Christmas, and all the quirks that make it what it is; you bring all the things that make Christmas special for you, Argos will bring the things to make it happen, and together we’ll have a special Christmas,” said Argos advertising manager, Nicola Brown.
The main 50-second ad, entitled ‘Together’, takes a humorous look into the reality of a real British Christmas Day.
There’s Dad eagerly trying to stuff an oversized turkey into an obviously too small oven, the Brussels’ sprouts that everyone is trying desperately to avoid, Grandpa falling asleep after lunch as he always does (who put the flashing lights on his head?), the cracker jokes that just aren’t that funny, the uninvited out of town relatives, to that blissful afternoon snooze on the sofa, finishing with the voice over: “…and we’ll bring an easier way to shop… from the smallest gift… to the biggest sofa… all at famously low Argos prices.”
It follow a ‘Lists’ spot to promote the new Christmas catalogue.
Accompanying the TV ads there will be through the line activity including radio, press, and online.
