Unilever has released a new advert for its Surf brand involving shadow play.
The brand Surf has been communicating its core range for the first half of 2009, using BBH’s previous campaign, ‘Duvet’.
Despite the recession environment, Surf holds a market share in constant progression. The brand is being launched in more and more markets (across Europe and globally) and is now a major player in the Unilever laundry business portfolio.
As a result, Surf has decided to launch a new range, inspired by the world of fine fragrance and called ‘Twilight Sensations’.
The concept is that the scent of Surf Twilight Sensations on unsers’ laundry transports them to the “mysterious world of twilight.”
To create the mysterious world of twilight, the TV commercial was been entirely shot in camera, with very limited use of CGI.
All the shadows were actually created behind long sheets, working with one of the world’s most talented shadow puppeteers.
