Agency: DDB London
Client: Kiwk Fit
This sneaky viral from DDB for Kwik Fit started out as an internal campaign for the automotive company, but after it leaked out onto YouTube it became an overnight hit too good to pass up!
After more than a quarter of million views, the viral has had the go head following some serious legal background checks!
The viral follows the Cassette Boy technique of mashing up clips from lots of different footage to create new messages.
The samples for this Kwik Fit Obama tyre change film are taken from various Barack Obama speeches and spell out a message of 'Change, Tyre Change.'
'Citizens should have the right to free tyre inspections', 'we must ask for change, tyre change', 'Kwik-Fit you'll be amazed at what we do' and various other quotes, all under the banner of 'Obama calls for tyre change.'
The Kiwk Fit viral is not the first time DDB has used President Obama in a commercial sense. Earlier this year the agency had the 44th President featured in a campaign for the Financial Times.
The execution of the award-winning ‘We live in Financial Times’ campaign, featured the President while posing the question ‘Who does the man everyone listens to, listen to?’
The campaign drew on a remark Obama made when he was interviewed by the FT in March.
