“In England the weather is lousy but the girls are always half-naked,” begins the monologue that opens this advert.
A series of contradictions observed from life in Blighty are then outlined ending with “We don’t know how to cook, but we make good biscuits.”
The closing frame reads, “They’re English but they’re good,” as spoken by a man with a broad French accent.
Whether or not this quirky piece of work will persuade the French to swap their fine patisserie for a biscuit they can dunk in their tea remains to be seen. But regardless, it’s a humorous enough piece of work to be this week’s ‘Editor’s Pick’.
