Client: Virgin Trains
There’s been much hype about Richard Branson playing a cameo role in one TV advert that’s being screened as part of the new campaign for Virgin Trains.
That’s all well and good but it’s this second execution from MCBD that’s struck more of a chord with us.
Instead of reaching out to business commuters, this one is aimed at leisure travellers. It features, Becky, a beautiful blonde sweetheart preparing for a dreamy weekend with a new boyfriend.
On top of that there’s a classic soundtrack, ‘Look of Love’ provided by 80s new romantics ABC.
The result is a singalonga feelgood 60” chick flick.
According to Virgin Trains Sales and Marketing Director, Sarah Copley, the new campaign aims to highlight increased frequency and speed, great value fares across the network, wi-fi on all trains, uninterrupted mobile phone connection for your whole journey and the fact that weekends are now back on the West Coast Mainline. Phew!
