Client: Marks & Spencer
While the country is tightening its collective belt Marks & Spencer has produced a typically extravagant Christmas campaign featuring Take That.
The band join M&S stalwarts including Lily Cole, Myleene Klass and Erin O’Connor at a credit crunch-defying country pile to enjoy a traditional Christmas day.
Shot in the style of a home movie, the star-studded advert shows the gang having a snowball fight, eating mince pies and playing charades.
The advert is accompanied by Macie Gray’s version of the Christmas Wonderland, and premiered during Coronation Street on ITV1.
Take That’s Gary Barlow described the commercial as the "most anticipated thing M&S do all year".
The TV ad campaign runs until December 14 and be supported by in-store marketing activity, as well as a 147-second version of the advert on M&S’s website.
"This ad includes everything we all love about Christmas from getting together with family and friends to eating mince pies, playing games and - the highlight of the day - giving and receiving presents," said Steven Sharp, the executive director of marketing at M&S.
