The cast and crew of British gangster film Daylight Robbery have teamed up with creative digital agency Silence to produce a viral for the independent film.
Silence reunited the film’s leading man, Geoff Bell, with director Paris Leonti and producer Nick O’Hagan, to work on the strategy and production of the viral.
Daylight Robbery, the British heist movie, premiered in London theatres earlier this month and was released last month.
The viral movie features Bell (RocknRolla, Green Street, Girl With A Pearl Earring) tapping the screen with a shotgun and saying the name of the recipient and their friend who emailed it.
Lee Henshaw, founder and creative director at Silence, believes this collaboration will set a precedent for digital marketing in the film industry.
“This viral is the first example of a movies’ director and leading man working this closely with a digital agency, and we have high hopes for it. We want to beat the figures for recent popular virals produced for Dexter, Mini and The Royal Marines.”
The film’s producer, Nick O’Hagan added, “Where we understand film making; Silence instinctively know how to use the internet to reach people who like movies. Those two skill-sets combined have produced a piece of work that’s the best in its class.”
