Tower Hamlets Borough Council has released a new TV ad to highlight the increasing danger of knife crime.
Attempting to speak especially to the youth of the borough, it shows the dangers that young people are putting themselves at risk with by carrying a knife, whether as part of gang culture or as self defence.
The borough claims research has shown that knife carriers are more likely to be wounded by their own blades because the knife is likely to be turned on them.
The film, created by Sonny Adorjan and Milo Campbell and directed by Kevin Thomas, shows a young man being chased through the busy city streets of London by an assailant.
There are glimpses of the assailant as he gets closer to his victim and when the chase finally ends in a residential street with the young man being stabbed in the neck, it is finally revealed that he has been attacked by himself.
Featuring scenes of the stabbing, those of a nervous disposition should not watch this ad.
