Agency: Ogilvy Advertising London
Client: Ford Kuga
Wrapping individual buildings is nothing new. The works by world famous artists Xavier Juillot and Christo have hit the headlines in the past. But wrapping a whole city? That takes the intervention of the power of advertising.
The latest TV ad campaign for the new Ford Kuga sees director Nicolai Fuglsig in the driving set.
He was the man responsible for the groundbreaking ‘Balls’ ad for Sony Bravia and the £10m ‘Tipping Point’ epic for Guinness.
TV is being supported by outdoor and print ads, created by Ogilvy Advertising and photographed by Nick Meek.
They are also various ambient executions; and an online campaign and microsite from Wunderman.
Creative partner for Ford of Europe at Ogilvy Advertising, Greg Burke, said, “Nicolai is one of the world’s hottest directors so it was a coup for us and our client.
Making this ad was always going to be challenging but as his previous work proves, Nicolai is more than up to the task and has created something visually very striking.
We’ve also got one of the most exciting artists in Europe – Camille – to provide the soundtrack to the TV commercial to make it an aural as well as a visual treat”.
Media planning and buying for the campaign, which runs until December, was done by Mindshare.
