The Cancun Tourism Institute has launched a 12 month campaign through Taxi Promotions UK, the largest independent taxi advertising specialist, to promote Cancun as holiday destination and its website as a source of information about hotels, activities and trip advice.
Never having used taxi advertising before, the Cancun campaign sees a fleet of 30 fully liveried cabs in London and Manchester, with branded receipts and tip-ups, with two Word-of-Mouth Ambassador Drivers, taxi drivers who have been guests of the Cancun Tourism Institute, who can converse with full knowledge about the holiday destination with passengers. Taxi Promotions UK’s Managing Director, Asher Moses, cites his Word-of-Mouth Ambassador Drivers as being crucial to attracting travel clients, who provide drivers with an opportunity to experience their destinations at first hand so they can enthuse about them to their customers and spread the word whilst they drive
“Five years ago we had eight travel clients with no more than 30 liveried cabs on the road”, he said.
“Last year we had 20 travel clients with perhaps 100 cabs. We now have 40, with more than 400 cabs on the road nationally at any time.”
