One of Britain’s best known actors, starring in hit films such as Nil by Mouth and more recently Beowulf, Ray Winstone has joined forces with Blah Blah pr and Creative Calvary to promote the children’s charity Talk…Don’t Walk, a charitable project run by The Relationship Centre.
“It’s a true testament to a celebrity’s character when they are willing to support a worthy cause. I didn’t even have to make him an offer he couldn’t refuse! Ray was so impressed with the work that the team at Talk…Don’t Walk have achieved he couldn’t wait to support them.” Stated Jason Kelly, PR Director, Blah Blah pr.
Blah Blah pr objective on behalf of the charity was to identify a suitable candidate and then negotiate the agreement between their client and the chosen celebrity. Because of Jason’s connections with various A-list celebrities the team at Blah Blah pr were able to quickly identity and facilitate the relationship between Ray Winstone and Talk…Don’t Walk.
“Helping to support Talk…Don’t Walk is a very worthy cause. The work they undertake and the amount of effort they put in when working with runaways and their families is fantastic. When Jason rang me up asking me to do him a favour I just couldn’t refuse. Not only was Jason very persuasive, but having the chance to become a Patron for such a fantastic organisation was a role I didn’t want to turn down.” stated Ray Winstone.
The actor’s agreement to represent the charity as its patron gives the charity a much needed boost, by supporting their strategy of rolling out the services it offers across the UK through local authorities and regionalised support groups.
Over 100,000 young people in England run away from home ever year. Talk…Don’t Walk help to reduce the risk of a young person becoming a run away, or if they have already run away, working towards reducing the risk of repeat running. They work with the young run away, their family and anyone else involved, such as schools and Social Services to address the reasons why.
Blah Blah pr, the public relations agency for the UK’s largest independent marketing group, TDMG, work with a number of high-profile clients, and although Talk…Don’t Walk may not be recognised as one of the well-known charity’s, they are the most prominent and most successful organisation working with young runaways.
