Sugar Puffs could be set for a legal face off with popular TV show ‘The Mighty Boosh’ after allegations that the latest ad for the breakfast cereal is a rip off.
Boosh stars Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt are furious that the latest Honey Monster work “copies” their “crimping” singing technique and are reportedly talking to lawyers, according to The Sun.
Crimping is the singing of short, random songs. The tunes have become a trademark of the hit series, featuring in every episode.
Mighty Boosh fans are outraged and have been posting comments below the new ad on YouTube.
The Sugar Puffs campaign is part of a £3.2 million multimedia push from HM Foods' for the cereal brand together with ‘Honey Waffles’ and ‘Honey Meltz’.
The Bray Leino work will run until May on GMTV, Five, Nickelodeon and multi-channel, and again from early July to mid August.
Honey Monster Foods and Bray Leino have yet to comment.
