Tesco customers are to have their own 15 minutes of fame to showcase their unique talents to the world in an new search tot find the ‘next big thing’.

On the back of a new deal with 1Click2Fame.com, mobile audition studio Performance Pods will be sited outside Tesco stores across the UK.

HD Green Screen technology inside the Pods allow users to create their own professional videos – anything from singing, dancing, comedy – the only limit being the performers imagination.

Choosing from thousands of backing tracks and hundreds of backgrounds, the public can tailor their performance to their own exacting demands - with studio quality recording equipment capturing the performance perfectly.

The Pods are aimed at giving Tesco customers a fun experience and those who believe they’ve got the fame factor, their video can also be entered into a competition at 1Click2Fame.com.

As well as being a forum for fun, the Pods also have an integrated marketing channel in the form of video screens to show advertising content.

1Click2Fame.com, already viewed by hundreds of thousands of people, is where hopefuls will be assessed by industry professionals and the public alike – with the aim of spotting, nurturing and rewarding talent.

As well as big cash prizes, winners will receive vital coaching, studio-time and management advice to help them become the next big thing.

Two Pods have already been trialled successfully at Turning Point Festival at the Roundhouse and in The Louder Lounge at V-Festival, where hundreds of festival goers tried their luck alongside established artists such as Will Young and Natalie Imbruglia.

“This partnership gives Tesco a genuinely unique dimension to add to an everyday shopping experience, you never know what hidden talents are walking in the aisles,” commented Rob Salter at Tesco.

“It’s always good for a community to have local talent to rally around and support. The encouragement that all X Factor contestants get from their home towns is a perfect example of how a community can come together and is exactly what we expect this talent search to achieve.”

The first official Pod will be landing at Tesco Coventry Arena, Arena Shopping Park in November and will then be rolled out on a regional tour of Tesco stores across the country, bringing a unique brand of entertainment to the UK.  Full details of the tour will be published nearer the time on 1Click2Fame.com.

Jonathan Lakin at 1Click2Fame added that partnering with Tesco meant that the Pods would  have unique access to thousands of members of the general public.
