Thousands of people turned up in London’s Trafalgar Square yesterday to take part in T-Mobile’s second flash mob event. The sing-along event, hosted by Vernon Kay, saw a surprise appearance by US pop star Pink.
Her performance came as the makers of the famous T-Mobile Dance ad filmed their new advert Sing. The gathered ‘mob’ sang hits such as The Beatles' Hey Jude, Britney Spears' debut song Hit Me Baby One More Time and musical number Summer Nights from Grease.
The latest spot in the 'Life is for sharing' campaign follows on from the stunt filmed in January, where 350 dancers broke into a mass dance routine at Liverpool Street station. Hidden cameras were placed around the station to capture the dancers and reactions of London commuters. The guerrilla-style ad was created by Saatchi & Saatchi and viral specialists Unruly Media.
The new advert will be filmed and edited in just over 48 hours and premieres during the break of Britain's Got Talent on Saturday May 2 at 9pm on ITV1.
