Orange has launched new online community via Facebook and Bebo for film fans that build on the company's long standing association with the movie world.
The new "Orange Film Club" gives Facebook and Bebo users access to film content such as free preview screenings, exclusive film competitions, trailers and reviews.
As part of the initiative, Orange has also launched a Facebook application which makes it easy for people to take advantage of the company's "Orange Wednesdays" two-for-one promotion.
Users of the application will also be able to see which friends are also using the Orange Wednesday’s tickets. To send an invitation, users enter the name of a friend and select a film, location and screening time - the invitations are sent automatically.
Even if you’re not an Orange customer, you can use the application to ‘Poke’ a friend who is and ask them to take you.
'Friends' of the film club get access to free preview screenings of the latest blockbusters. People signing up at launch will be invited to a free screening of Sex Drive, the new teen flick starring Josh Zuckerman and Seth Green.
‘Friends’ will also receive regular updates and access to the Orange Wednesdays Movie Show – a weekly digest of movie news and previews.
Spencer McHugh, head of brand communications at Orange, said, “From our cult cinema adverts to sponsorship of the prestigious BAFTA film awards, Orange has a longstanding association with film. The new Film Club communities give movie fans on Facebook and Bebo a place to come together and chat about the things they love most. And, with the new Facebook application, we’ve made it even easier for people to benefit from Orange Wednesdays."
