In Style partners with Revlon for handbag auction

In Style magazine has partnered with cosmetics giant Revlon to launch the first ever In Style Handbag Auction.

The event will feature a selection of designer-label and vintage bags as well as pieces donated personally by celebrities including Keira Knightley, Elle McPherson, Claudia Schiffer and Thandie Newton, Sharon Osbourne and Eva Green.

The auction will take place during a champagne tea event at The Berkeley hotel ballroom on the 4 November.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the Rainbow Trust, a UK charity that provides support to families of children suffering from a life-threatening or terminal illness, which In Style’s editor Trish Halpin is a patron of.

As part of the promotion, Revlon is partnering with Boots to maximise in-store exposure to further support the event. From the 5 November until the beginning of December, 5p from every Revlon purchase sold in Boots stores nationwide will be donated to Rainbow Trust.

To kick off the event Revlon, Boots and In Style are also offering readers the opportunity to win a Kerala by Chloé handbag donated by Hollywood A-lister and Revlon spokesperson Jessica Alba, along with an exclusive handwritten message.

Trish Halpin, editor of In Style, said, “This is going to be a fun, uber glam event which will raise lots of money for an incredibly good cause. After all - what woman doesn’t want a fantastic handbag?”

Scott Peterson, commercial director UK & Ireland for Revlon, added, "Revlon are proud to be working alongside In Style Magazine to hold the UK's first-ever In Style Handbag Auction to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Charity. This amazing event is perfectly suited to Revlon's heritage of contemporary glamour and iconic beauty.  We are also pleased to bring this event to life in-store through our partnership with Boots to raise even more money and grateful to our spokeswoman Jessica Alba for donating her designer bag for the Boots customers to win.”
