We’ve never seen anything like this before. The Nintendo Wii has completely reinvented the YouTube experience.
In demonstrating the the capabilities of the gaming console the developers have been able to think outside the box, quite literally.
A new video for the game ‘Wario Land; Shake It’ involves shaking – shaking so much that the footage escapes from the viewer into the whole YouTube screen page.
As the shaking increases the page appears to completely fall apart as boxes collapse and slip off the screen.
The experience has become a viral hit for Nintendo and has been viewed almost 1.4 million times in the space of just one week.
‘Wario Land; Shake It’ encourages gamers to use the Wii Remote controller in unique ways, holding it sideways and shaking it to help surly anti-hero Wario run, jump and smash his way through a hectic side-scrolling adventure.
The campaign for the new game has also seen in-store play-offs targeting veteran gamers.
But that’s nothing compared to the YouTube activity. Inspiration indeed to marketers of wobbly jelly products around the world.
