Luxury crystal brand, Swarovski, is to back a new radio station dedicated to all things fashion, launching today (July 9).
Fashion DJs is the brain child of fashion photographer Nick Knight, and will feature DJs from the fashion and entertainment world‘s glitterati.
This week will feature designer Bernhard Willhelm, i-D’s Fran Burns, Agent Provocateur’s Joe Corré and hairstylist Sam McKnight.
Steve Mackay, Jon Gosling, Jerry Bouthier and Jeremy Healy, will also be contributing their catwalk mixes of the season.
Additional future programming is set to include “a picnic with Lily Cole”, “Jefferson Hack’s guide to what’s new” and “Boy George’s choir.”
Listeners can also expect to hear the “dulcet tones” of Naomi Campbell as she takes to the microphone following her recent alleged air-rage escapade.
Broadcast on an RSL license on 87.7FM in London and through showstudio.com, the station will run from July 9 for three days from 12-noon to midnight with over-nights looped, offering listeners a second chance to catch their favourite shows.
Video footage of the shows featuring the Fashion DJs performing in the infamous Abbey Road studios will also be streamed. The resulting footage will be broadcast on showstudio.com.
The project has been commissioned by, events production company Gainsbury & Whiting and is being produced by Somethin’ Else.
