Im a post-graduate student who is half way through my second year of an Information Technologies for Busniess management course. I was wondering if i would be able to get into the marketing sector?

I would say so. The main thing to getting a job in the marketing industry is experience. So finish your course first, then try to get a job in admin or as an intern in a big marketing company. This will then give you the experience you need for your CV.
