i would have a look at the jobs being advertised on the internet and compare them. have a look at some marketing specific sites. one site which is part of the tiptopjob group is theMARKETINGjob - you could give that a go.

just search through all the different marketing roles and check the salary on them comparing agency and side side roles.

you could always give some companies a call and ask them - just say you are doing some research and want to find out expected salaries.

I used to work on the agency-side and the money was hot, perks not bad, we partied like it was 1999 but hours were hell and the stress levels were crazy. If you notice - agencies always have about 1000 staff in an office even though they handle huge multimillion dollar accounts. This means that they work like sweatshops.

I have just started my first client side role, and I have to say I like it a lot better. my work-life balance has improved and I have a great pension scheme.

The grass is not always greener ;-)

I currently work in client side marketing, but i've been told that there is more money to be made on the agency side. What do other people think? I have 5 years experience and am a Marketing Mangager.
