It seems that the limited marketing Primark did for the launch of the new store in Marble Arch has paid off. I heard that they had to open the doors 15 minutes early as they feared people in the queue would break the doors down! I went along yesterday thinking that it would be less busy but there was a queue all the way down to Park Lane, about 300 people. And all to buy some cheap clothes. Is it really worth it?!

I went on Tuesday and the queue was still right up to Park Lane. I give up (for a few more days!)

I have a theory. I dont want to stat a rumour (!) but i had a good old look in the windows at Primark and the shop was pretty empty. I think they are making people queue outside for the publicity...

Funny you should mention that, i noticed the same thing on Wednesday. We were in the queue for ages but when we finally got in, it was pretty empty.

Great idea though. Everyone is talking about it, good way to create hype!

P.S. Does anyone know why the pronunciation of 'Primark' has suddenly changed?

Yeh. It used to be 'PrImark', and now it's PrEmark'. What's going on there then? Are they trying to re-invent themselves?
