| The ASA has now banned the Trident gum ad 'Mastication for the Nation'. A little too late perhaps? The campaign has finished now anyway!

| This ad was all about the shock tactics from the start. And it worked. But is this the best strategy to have? What happened to making really good creatives? Is it acceptable just to make an ad with the aim to shock and nothing else? Great publicity, but shite ad!

| No, shock tactics are not the best strategy. A strong creative is always better but to shock is becoming more and more acceptable in the advertising world. How things have changed!

| It's exactly the same as the Wrigleys Xcite gum ad which was banned for being too gross (a guy threw up a dog). The main tactic is to shock with ads like these and it works; look at the attention this campaign has had... And the gum isnt all all that!

| Taste and decency? Where do you draw the line. Whatever, Cadbury's are laughing all the way. The campaign's been and gone. Too late ASA!
