I've finished doing a marketing degree and getting tired of doing light work or making tea for other experiential/direct marketing agencies. im thinking of setting my own agency with 4 other people.

What golden rules should i respect in starting my own experiential marketing agency? where can i find new clients that would need my services?

It in theory sounds like a good idea but before setting up you will need to put in place a key strategy. It's harder for recent graduates to command the respect and responsibility they want due to a lack of case study experience, which will come. To set up you may wish to look for funding from somewhere.

In terms of looking for 'clients' it is said so vague like you have no specific target markets.

My advice is get planning together come up with ideas - remember differentiate yourself by adding value.

Do you have any qualifications in experiencial marketing? What experience of this strategy do you have? What contacts do you have outside your colleagues? Do you know where to get things done? Have you a business plan? Who are your likely clients? Have you segmented them? What are other companies spending on experiencial marketing so you can price your service correctly?

These might sound like dumb questions, but they are extremely important when you talk to the bank about finance and opening the business account as well as presenting to potential clients.

Both of these will be looking hard at you all that they are getting value for money and security.

It's an exciting area to be in - as long as it gets measurable results.

Good luck!
