I have a really good singing group that could really be stars if they had some good publicity. What are some ways that I could help put them out to the public in a good way?

You need to be more strategic and ask yourself some questions:

What is my band's USP?

Genre? What labels support this genre?

How are they marketing themselves already?

etc, etc,

Understanding your product and target means you will be in a better position to plan your marketing.
