Puckering lips behind PCs, blow-drying hair in the office bathroom and applying mascara in a makeshift mirror - Boots is celebrating the start of the party season with its new Christmas advert.
A 500 strong model the latest looks from No7’s creative director and make-up artist Lisa Eldridge and Madonna’s stylist, B in a burst of feminine frenzy.
The on-screen transformation all takes place to the track ‘Here Come The Girls,’ a 1940’s classic from Ernie K. Doe. With an upbeat military feel the song reflects ‘operation get gorgeous’ and the precision with which women arrange their look.
Getting the rights to the song involved travelling to New Orleans and knocking on the singer, Ernie K Doe's widow's door!
The production team went through the equivalent of three Boots shops worth of make-up and hair products over the five day shoot .
The commercial was shot in an abandoned office building in the outskirts of London. Mother brought it back to life: re-supplied it with electricity, dusted off the furniture and filled it with people again.
