Sainsbury’s has launched its Christmas advert for 2009 featuring Jamie Oliver.
The 60 second work sees Jamie adding a special personal touch as he takes to the road to deliver festive Christmas food, and some easy hints and tips, direct to people across the UK.
The advert also features many of the people that Jamie met in each of the regions he visited.
A working kitchen, measuring almost twenty feet, was specially designed and constructed on the back of a flat bed truck to allow Jamie to visit different areas of the country during the shoot.
Day one saw him in Liverpool in the City centre and surrounding area, followed by a visit to Chester in Greater Manchester, and his road trip ended in Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire.
In each region Jamie cooked up a Christmas treat for locals and passers by, which included Ciabatta with cream cheese, horseradish, smoked salmon and dill; mince pies served with a mixture of Clementine zest, crème fraiche and a dash of rich cream sherry; and a freshly baked, golden roast, Norfolk Black turkey.
Christmas snow scenes were created in each area and in Hebden Bridge the entire town square was decorated to resemble a Victorian Christmas scene complete with Christmas lights, a ten foot Christmas tree, carol singers and plenty of snow.
The TV ad campaign will be supported by in-store marketing activity.
