Spring PR and Marketing has been appointed to promote the website for Habbo, one of the world’s fastest growing, teenage web communities.
To date, 66 million Habbo characters have been created and 7 million unique users worldwide visit Habbo each month (source: Nielsen Netratings, October 2006). Habbo is the brainchild of the Finnish interactive entertainment company Sulake.
Spring have not only been briefed to promote Habbo to the media but are also tasked with developing newsworthy initiatives. The latest centres on integrating popstars into the community. Habbo offers a massive audience for bands and artists seeking to target the youth market. Popstar visits in turn also provide exciting contents for the site and huge talking points.
Next week Faithless will be coming to chat to Habbos and help launch new furniture that Habbos can use to decorate their personal hotel rooms. Future activity has been confirmed with U2 who are hosting a pub quiz, Jamelia who is launching a beauty salon, Lil Chris, who is hosting an exclusive album listening party as well as Girls Aloud, JoJo and Matt Willis.
Spring are a youth lifestyle and music agency who are currently retained by brands such as HUGO Fragrances to promote an urban music initiative and by festival brands such as Global Gathering, Escape into the Park and the Jazz Café Picnic. Spring also promotes underground artists such as Akira the Don, Ping Pong Bitches and West Midlands based live art festival: Fierce.
