Bluepod Media, the Bluetooth marketing specialist, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Richard Wallace as its new Finance Director.
Richard was previously Finance Director at media giant, Starcom Mediavest, and will take up his new role with Bluepod Media on 17 March.
The appointment is in line with Bluepod’s ambitions to expand into the global mobile advertising market throughout 2008. Both industry insiders and clients alike are beginning to realize the sheer potential of a permission-based and localized Bluetooth marketing service which engages recipients at a time and with content which is directly related to their experience.
Richard has been with Starcom for the past 7 years, and became UK Finance Director in 2005. He will be working at the global hub of Bluepod Media in the UK and will manage all financial aspects of running Bluepod both for the UK and the new offices in the USA and South America.
On his new role at Bluepod Media, he said: “At this point in my career, I am ready for a new challenge. I understand Bluepod’s ambitions as a media owner and look forward to putting my mark on what will be an interesting time for Bluepod Media, as it continues to expand its offering overseas”.
This announcement follows on from Bluepod Media’s exclusive agreement with nine major UK football clubs, including Spurs and Derby County, to provide Bluetooth marketing which will add value to the fans’ experience on match days. Bluepod has also formed exclusive partnerships with Vue, Cineworld and now, Showcase cinemas to provide Bluetooth marketing across over 150 UK cinemas.

Bluepod media is a New-Media advertising company that provides proximity-based marketing to mobile phones through its proprietary on-site multimedia advertising tool: Bluepod.
Using a small electronic box that is able to push digital content to mobile phones within a 100m radius, Bluepod offers proximity advertising which operates on a pay-per-download model, with advertisers only paying for each time their content is accessed.
