Lateral wins opportunity to develop distinctive online style for Little, Brown’s newly acquired Piatkus imprint
Little, Brown Book Group has appointed digital communications agency Lateral (www.lateral.net) to develop a website for new acquisition Piatkus Books.
Piatkus Books specializes in popular fiction and practical non-fiction and is known for promoting pioneering books as well as producing good commercial fiction.
“We’re looking forward to starting to work on a new Little, Brown imprint. Bringing through the distinctive character of each imprint is an enjoyable creative challenge,” said Mathew Riley, Group Account Director at Lateral.
The website will feature news and views from Piatkus staff, readers and authors, and will maintain a distinctive visual identity, following the approach taken by Little, Brown imprints Orbit and Virago on their websites.
The site will be built on the same .NET platform as the main Little, Brown website, and will link in to the main site for users to purchase books directly from the publishers.
“Lateral’s expertise and detailed knowledge of how we and the publishing industry work made them the obvious choice of agency,” said Roger Cazalet, Group Marketing Director at Little, Brown.
Lateral are also working with Little, Brown's parent company Hachette Livre
UK and with Hachette Livre's Hodder & Stoughton publishing division and have recently launched the new corporate website for the HLUK Group
Lateral launched the new Little, Brown Book Group website in October 2007 www.littlebrown.co.uk.
