OMD have appointed Peter Magnani to the newly created position of Director of International Clients.
The role will see him driving the international media management agenda on all OMD multi-market clients across the EMEA region.
OMD’s international client base has effectively doubled in the last four years and therefore these changes are part of a wider programme to deliver an enhanced international media service on all key global and regional accounts.
Peter has been at OMD for seven years having joined in 2001 to head up the Sony business across Europe. In 2004 he was appointed Managing Director to run the international office out of London.
Under his leadership the division has not only grown exponentially in terms of client assignments and media billings, but has also enjoyed being awarded an unprecedented number of industry accolades.
“I am delighted to be taking this leadership role across the region. Having helped develop our international account management approach this is a natural evolution for me,” says Peter.
“I am incredibly eager to start applying my knowledge, expertise and industry relationships to expanding our international business further through our major client hubs.”
In the communications industry for over 17 years, Peter began his career at Lowe Howard Spink as a Media Planner/Buyer on Tesco, Lloyds Bank and General Motors, progressing to Board Member. In 1997 he then joined Western Initiative as Joint Media Director on Smirnoff, Jack Daniels and Powergen before joining OMD in 2001.
In his new role Peter he will report to Nikki Mendonça, President, OMD EMEA.
Commenting on the appointment Nikki said “Over the last couple of months we have taken a forensic look at our international client account management.
“We now have a programme in place to take our global offering to a new level and Peter will play a critical role in ensuring that this enhanced level of service is being delivered across all our key clients.”
She concluded, “He has the skill, attitude and passion to spearhead this new agenda across EMEA. I have worked with him now for six years and I am thrilled to have him on board as part of our regional management team.”
