The management of dealgroupmedia (UK) has completed a buyout of the company from Deal Group Media plc.
The buyout was completed by Carl Davis, Deal Group Media plc’s Chief Technical Officer, and John Porter, Chairman of Deal Group Media plc. Deal Group Media plc remain a shareholder of the new UK business.

The management buyout of dgm UK was self financing and has not been funded by debt. dgm UK was officially purchased by ITS Ltd, a corporate vehicle acquired by Carl Davis and John Porter to execute the deal. Among the plans for the new company is a vision to expand operations into Europe. In addition to providing new opportunities for dgm UK, the buyout is expected to enable Deal Group Media plc to fully focus on expanding into new markets such as the Far East.
The dealgroupmedia company was founded in 1999, the UK’s first affiliate network provider. Since that time the company has been at the forefront of the affiliate marketing industry.

Carl has worked for DGM since 2002, firstly as a software developer. In 2006 he was appointed as Head of Technology and in early 2007 as Chief Technology Officer. He was instrumental in successfully reviewing and transforming the technology division of the Group which provides DGM with a real competitive edge within its industry.
Carl has worked within the IT industry for 10 years. During this time he has gained valuable experience of the media, financial and engineering sectors. Internet based trading and delivery software has been his primary focus throughout his career. Carl holds degrees in Law, Legal Practice Certification, and an MSc in Information Technology with distinction.
More recently Carl has held the position of interim Managing Director for dealgroupmedia UK. During the five months of his tenure, Carl identified the potential of the UK business and subsequently initiated and executed a management buyout of dgm UK in December 2007.
John Porter was appointed to the Board as Executive Chairman of Deal Group Media plc in November 2005. He has an active role within the business and oversees the Group’s strategy and operations. John has substantial PLC experience particularly within the technology and online sectors. He is also Chairman of i-spire Plc, a new media investment company with a shareholding in Deal Group Media plc.
As a founder of Redbus Interhouse PLC he served as chairman during its early stages and in November 2005 the company was merged with Telecity. John Porter was the co-founder of Verifone Inc, the market innovator and leader in credit verification equipment and service, which was sold to Hewlett Packard in 1997. John is a graduate of Oxford University, Institute d’Etudes Politiques, Paris and Stanford University.
